Today, a very brave and amazing lady left this world. It doesn't matter how many times I hear "it's for the best" or "she's in a better place now" I still feel really sad :'(
I know she has gone to a better place. I know she's with Jesus, and she is free from pain. I know all of that. But I haven't been able to stop crying all day.
Anyway. Writing this has helped a bit.

The ones I love are by my side
An angel quietly waits
Until St Peter calls on him
And he opens up his gates
He smiles and takes me by the hand
There are no words to say
He opens up his golden wings
As if to fly away
I hear my Lord's voice calling me
It's time to leave this place,
Run into His eternal arms
And see His smiling face.
If I tried to paint a picture
Of heaven, I, alas
Couldn't even draw for you
A single blade of grass
So amazing is its beauty,
No earthly words will do.
No painting can convey its
Pure magnificence to you.
When next you think of me, please smile;
I'm home now: safe and well.
And 'til it's time to meet again,
I'm happy here to dwell
